Killing Time: The Story Of Projekt Töten Zeit

During Hitler¿s reign, the Third Reich undertook numerous initiatives to develop ¿wonder weapons¿ that would ensure that a small country like Germany had every advantage it could to dominate the world. Their relentless pursuit of innovative ideas and far reaching concepts changed the face of war long after the last shot was fired. From submarines and jet aircraft, to long-range rockets, Germany stood years, and in some cases decades ahead of their enemies. The only thing they lacked was time. In the mid nineteen sixties, the Americans discovered in an archive the documentation of one such operation, ¿Projekt Töten Zeit¿ with the English translation ¿Project Killing Time¿. The project was a daring last resort attempt by Hitler and his top scientists to find a way to send a message back in time to the Fuhrer. Those messages would lead him to correct the mistakes of the war and lead Germany to a certain victory. Scientists worked feverishly to the end without success as Germany fell to defeat in May of 1945. The Americans, knowing that the Russians had also confiscated works about the project during the post-war division of Germany¿s intellectual capital feared that if Russia could get their own project operational they could alter the very fate of America. From there, the race was on to bring the theory to reality, in what became the most expensive black project in U.S. Military history. America became the first to achieve the capability and extend it beyond even Hitler¿s wildest dreams, to sending a human back in time. The dream of time travel however was riddled with unknown risks and limitations, but America couldn¿t wait. The trip across time is a story of triumph and tragedy, and of love and betrayal, as the two Americans land in World War II Germany, and attempt to overcome many obstacles and long odds to protect America¿s future and its past. They find that time itself is the real enemy.
