Calm to chaos is a novella which reaches into the lives of five patients that Syd Worthington, a student paramedic has through a 12 hour night shift in Brisbane. Syd is supported by his mentor; a seasoned Scotsman named Cameron, who believes in Syd and knows he can do well at the job. Syd's girlfriend, Amber the nurse, has been behaving strangely and will lead Syd into an evening of deception and fury, all while he tries to keep focus on his patients.
