The New Testament miracle of the feeding of the 5,000 is quite familiar. But about the young boy who supplies the bread and fish Jesus multiplies, we know nothing more than what he carried for lunch that day. Benjamin's Bread is the imaginary story of Benjamin, a nephew of 'Uncle Peter', the fisherman and disciple of Jesus. Benjamin is too small to fish with his uncles on the Sea of Galilee, but, with his mother, he bakes their bread each day. One day he is permitted to go with them to see the Rabbi who is teaching on the hill. Children will be astonished along with Benjamin when they see that Jesus wants his lunch, and when they see what he does with it!
