Mei-ling Lee pioneered cultural tourism in Australia, incorporating tourism education into a profitable tourism business, bringing new economic opportunities to regional Australia. Head-hunted by the Singapore Tourism Commission, in five years Mei-ling transformed the island nation's tourism business. She now returns to Australia to bring a new dimension of profitability to the Arts in Cooksland by linking it to the economics of cultural tourism. Mei-ling soon finds, however, that the internal politics of the Cooksland tourism elite place one block after another in the way of her ambitious plan. The internecine politics of each clique in Cooksland tourism's cultural landscape penetrate deep into the heart of Mei-ling's private life, threatening even the sanctity of 'home' for her partner and pre-school daughter.
