A Good Magic Heart (The Aegis Islands Adventures)

As the first birthday of the Aegis Islands approaches, "Preacher Bill" Jabbers challenges the islanders to be a country that does not stand idly by while humans suffer. Their commitment is immediately put to the test when the young people are asked to travel to Jinja, Uganda to build an orphanage dormitory. As they battle the heat, rain storms and red dust of Uganda, the kids slowly begin to understand that people really aren't different, only their opportunities are, and they find themselves forming deep attachments with the people of Jinja. They also discover the reality of living by their country's creed when they put themselves in mortal danger to defend a young Somalian boy and his mother from the rebel army that is hunting them down. After a month, the weary young Aegins return home, hoping for some much needed rest. Instead, they find themselves thrust into the frenzy of Darien's coronation preparations amidst the giddy tourists who have flocked to the Aegis Islands to witness the beautiful young queen claim her crown.
