'The Call' Girls

Janet Watson and Kitty McIntyre, thirtysomething moms with experience in the journalism field, purchase their hometown paper, The Dunfield Call, and turn it into a credible entity. They start covering town government, to the consternation of elected officials, and eventually delve into investigative reporting. Legal problems then beset the pair. The novel focuses on the struggles of modern journalism but also, in a humorous vein, highlights the way that Janet and Kitty juggle their roles as mothers with their work as budding entrepreneurs.
