Okoth Owity Opap, a native of Otalo in South Sudan was born in 1978, growing up into the 1983 second Sudanese civil war which led to displacement of families, his family being a victim. Through UNHCR, he was received to the United States on June 15, 1999. Earned his bachelor's degree in 2014 from Park University in Kansas City, Missouri and was awarded top news writer in the University.Ever since, his passion for Journalism and politics grew, his interest in Pan-Africanism birthed his maiden book "Unsung Giants in Africa." In 2018, he earned his master's degree in Healthcare Administration from the same university. The author of this book currently resides in Kansas City, Missouri in the United States. He is married to Abang Othow and they have a son, Anade.
