The United States was a unique country founded on the unique concept that all are created equal and each person was given natural rights by the Creator including life, liberty, and property or the pursuit of happiness. The role of government would be to protect these rights so they were never abridged in any way. Another vision for citizens of the United States is that a primary role of government would be to provide entitlements to its citizens. These entitlements would be considered rights and the natuaral rights, when considered to be discriminatory in any manner, would be abridged or even eliminated. Thses two visions are clashing. The outcome for both visions is already known. What is not known is which vision will prevail.
