Lida Jane Mulliner was 100 per cent the progeny of pioneer members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Every one of her great grandparents joined the church before 1855, and one-half of their parents (her great-great-grandparents) joined during that same era. All of those ancestors who were still living during the pioneer era of 1846 and the years following came to the Salt Lake valley between 1847 and 1856. They provided a rich mixture of the pioneering experiences of the Saints: handcart pioneers, Mormon Battalion members, those who crossed in large wagon trains, those who came from Nauvoo, those who came from England up the Mississippi River to St. Louis, those who were from Canada...
