The UK's decision to leave the European Union has given rise to many different and sometimes conflicting emotions. For people who passionately believe that Britain's future lies in Europe, these emotions include frustration with those who campaigned for a leave vote (while often hiding their true objective of a smaller state and deregulated economy behind a phoney promise of £350 million per week for the NHS) and impatience with many of those who fell for their pitch. However, emotions such as these will only take you so far. The author has taken to poetry as a concrete expression of his distaste for all aspects of Brexit, especially the sinister comfort blanket of nostalgia which is frequently rolled out to justify the whole exercise. The poems in this book are intended to be enjoyed. If they arouse the reader's emotions, so much the better.
